The last body has been recovered from the accident which happened in Springside on July 11. On July 17, the Springside Fire and Rescue as well as members of Canora Auto Rescue and members of the Canora Detachment used a boat and all terrain vehicles to recover the body of the 84 year old deceased male from Yorkton. The name will not be released from the police at the request of the family.
The accident happened on July 11 when a pickup truck carrying three male occupants was swept into the Whitesand River at around 8:30 p.m. One male occupant, a 65 year old male from Yorkton, SK managed to get out of the vehicle and make his way to shore, climb up the gully and summon assistance from an area resident.
Shortly after noon on July 13, the pick up truck was located and removed from the Whitesand River. Assisting with the vehicle removal were members of the "F" Division Underwater Recovery Team. Located inside the vehicle was a deceased male, Nick Zenkewich, aged 73, from Yorkton.
