In response to the major devastation the city of Yorkton suffered in the Canada Day flood, a benefit concert was planned to assist local charities. The event was held August 27 in the Gallagher Centre curling rink.
Featuring live performances by twelve local and provincial musical artists and bands, a giant silent auction, beverage sales and draws, the evening attracted over 700 people. By all accounts, it was a huge success.
The organizing committee of Flood Fund 2010 benefit Yorkton have announced that the final totals of the benefit are $37,000. All proceeds will be donated to Yorkton charity groups.
