While the Canada Day flood in the city is becoming a distant memory for some, many are still contending with the aftermath and a number of families remain homeless.
This is why, says Yorkton's Red Cross representative Michael Pasloski, the need to give is still very real.
The SIGN on Broadway building remains home to as many as 20 local families and as people strive to get their lives back to normal many are finding they are in need of a helping hand.
"The Red Cross is entering into the recovery phase now," details Pasloski.
"Initially we are responsible for the first 72 hours, providing food, clothing and shelter but as we move to the future, what the Red Cross does is recovery so now we look at insurance and PDA (Provincial Disaster Assistance) and if there's any gaps in there that aren't covered by either, or,that's where the Red Cross Recovery program comes in."
There's no blanket rule for the recovery program adds Pasloski, with each case being decided on an individual basis.
"We are just looking to be where we can help... the needs are always there... other things move in and at the Red Cross that's what's it's all about. It's our moment to shine so to speak, this is what we do."
It wouldn't however, be possible without local support, which Pasloski says the Red Cross is very appreciative of.
