Get out to vote

While it's impossible for each to convey all of their hopes, plans and goals for the city if elected, they are available and ready to answer questions or to hear your concerns should you seek them out prior to heading to the polls.

October 24 is the day that has been slated for Yorkton's municipal election and candidates who have put their names forward for council and mayor - with the exception of one - were on hand last week to publicly introduce themselves and to give residents the opportunity to get to know a little about them first hand.

Two individuals are vying for Mayor and ten have put their names forward to represent the city as councillors. Only six will be successful on council with one mayor taking the helm. All vying for positions were present for last Wednesday's forum - hosted by the Yorkton Chamber of Commerce - except for mayoral candidate Richard Genaille.

Speaking before a full room, each candidate had the opportunity for both opening and closing remarks as well as the chance to answer questions posed in writing form the floor. All urge members of the general public to exercise their right to vote and to take the time to ask questions and get informed prior to election day.
