Giving for health

The Crossroads Credit Union recently donated $1,000 to assist funding the conceptual plan for a new Regional Hospital.

"This is a necessary project that will be very good for our region," says Jim Rediger, CEO of Crossroads Credit Union.

"We have Credit Union branches in Canora, Preeceville Sturgis, Margo, Wadena and we know that many of our members and residents of the communities where we have offices use the Regional Health Centre. We know our communities will benefit from a new hospital, so it makes a lot of sense for us to support a new regional facility," he continued.

"As well, Credit Unions give back to the community on a regular basis; it is part of who we are and how we do business. So this kind of a project is a natural fit for us because healthcare affects everyone, and good healthcare facilities are one of the most important building blocks for any community.

"This is a wonderful donation and it comes at a great time," adds Ross Fisher, Executive Director of The Health Foundation. "We have had a terrific reception from the business community since we started raising funds to develop a conceptual plan. Crossroads Credit Union is the 51th business to make a contribution to this plan."
