June 21 was Go Skateboarding Day, a now international event to spread the skateboarding culture and Cab Clothing celebrated the event with their third annual Go Skateboarding Day held at the skatepark. Shop owners Brennan Wiens and Aaron Kienle were out serving hot dogs and water at the park as well as having a product toss where t-shirts, hats, skate videos, and sunglasses were given out as well as orchestrating a scavenger hunt through twitter and facebook in which a free skate deck and a pair of skateboarding shoes were given out to the first person who could find the hidden items.

The park had a solid turnout for the day's events as skateboarders of all ages took advantage of the excuse to go hit the park.

Cab also held a pre Go Skateboarding Day event in Brandon, Manitoba in which members of the Cab skate team teamed up with Emerica riders on their Dust Demons tour in an event at the Brandon skatepark that gave local skaters a chance to meet and skate with pros as well as further grow skateboarding outside of Yorkton.

Wiens also mentioned that the new skatepark will be huge for Yorkton stating that it will be "world class." Wiens also mentioned that the park will grow Yorkton's skate scene as a similar park in Brandon drew over a hundred spectators for their pre-Go Skateboarding Event with the Emerica team.
