The Riders weren't the only ones to emerge victorious from Mosaic Stadium on Saturday.
Yorkton took one step closer to winning Riderville honours as the city's bid was announced as a finalist during the Riders-Eskimos game.
Yorkton will compete against Avonlea, Nipawin, Unity and Weyburn for the 'Riderville' crown - accompanied by $25,000 for the winning bid's football program.
As Barry Sharpe, co-chairman of the 'Yorkton is Riderville' bid committee, explains, the winner will be determined by online fan voting.
The balloting will commence on August 13 and will run until August 31. Voters can log on to www.riderville.com and submit their choice once a day until the contest closes.
With the Riderville campaign now heading into the home stretch, Sharpe emphasizes the need for Rider Pride in Yorkton to be fired up once again.
"We have to really get into it here now. We want to get all the businesses and homeowners getting back into the Rider spirit again," he details.
Sharpe says that the organizing committee is hoping to stage a 'Party in the Park' celebration in conjunction with the campaign.
This event, likely taking place in the next couple of weeks, will coincide with another visit from representatives of the Saskatchewan Rough-riders football club.
The home of 'Riderville' will be announced during the Labour Day game, September 5, versus the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
