The Yorkton Peewee Gridders wrapped up their season with a decisive win over Lumsden recently. Yorkton and Lumsden played a 'Bowl' game which is played by the teams that didn't make the league playoffs reports Gridders head coach Jason Farrell.

The Gridders played what Farrell deems their best game of the year to beat Lumsden handily by a score of 39-12.

The win wrapped up the season in grand fashion, says Farrell, "Because not only did we win handily, but we did it under the lights at Mosaic Stadium which was a pretty awesome experience for those kids."

Looking ahead to next year, Farrell says he will have 15 players eligible to return next year. He will also return to coach the team.

It was very satisfying to see a the things we've talked about culminate into one game, including the offense, the communication, the defense, the intensity, the supporting each other, Farrell lists.

One of the proudest moments came right at the end Farrell suggests. When the bus driver dropped the team off he came up and shook Farrell's hand and said, "I just need to tell you, you have, for sure the most polite, well-behaved group of young men that I travel with."

"I'm probably as proud of that as I am with the performance on the field," he closes.
