It's your chance to win prizes while helping out with a worthy, local cause.
Yorkton's Royal Ford has launched a unique campaign to help make Christmas a little brighter for the women and children, currently staying at Shelwin House.
The dealership is encouraging Yorkton residents to bring in non-perishable food items for the safe shelter. Every individual who donates a food item through Royal Ford, will have their name entered into a draw for a special prize.
As well the dealership is encouraging Yorkton residents to help raise funds for the Shelter. Royal Ford will donate $1 for every person who visits the Royal Ford facebook page and "likes" the page. "We really appreciate the support Royal Ford is providing to Shelwin House. The funds and the food will enable us to make Christmas a bit more special for our residents," comments Lavern Dumka, Director, Shelwin House.
Dumka says the Royal Ford campaign helps to ensure a broader audience is aware that domestic violence is not acceptable. She also says the funds raised will be used to pay for ongoing items required by the home as well as Christmas toys and educational material for the children.
The food will be used to make Christmas hampers for the women residents.
Shelwin House is a safe shelter for women who are leaving abusive domestic relationships, and their children.
"We are very pleased to be able to be offering Yorkton and area residents an opportunity to really help women and children at Shelwin House, as we head into the Christmas season. We encourage Yorkton residents to visit our facebook page, and drop off food items at our dealership. Your assistance can make all the difference to an individual or family in need," adds Terry Ortynsky, owner, Royal Ford.
