The site of the old Kent Flour Mill was once again a topic of discussion at Monday evening's regular meeting of Yorkton City Council.

While the elevator has been demolished council has decided in favour of fixing up the area.

"The Yorkton Business Improvement District (YBID) submitted a concept design to the city that will beautify the northwest corner of the old flour mill lot," said Darcy McLeod, Community Development and Parks and Recreation Director to council.

The area will be seeded with natural prairie grass and shrubs that are drought tolerant. A hard surface trail will be incorporated from a gravel area as well as from the street to provide access up to the building."The rail spur will be left in place in case there are plans for future development says McLeod adding, YBID will be responsible for all costs associated with the modification.

After hearing about the plan council was in agreement to proceed.
