In December 2013, the victim provided investigators a detailed statement during which she revealed that she was the victim of sexual assaults that occurred during the summer of 1982. The victim also told investigators that she was assaulted by an adult female and a serving male member of the RCMP. The victim was 12 years old at the time of the alleged assaults. Investigators have conducted a comprehensive investigation which has resulted in charges against two individuals. Ronald Patrick Makar (DOB: 1960-01-09)has been charged with 1 count of having sexual intercourse with a female person without her consent and 1 count of having sexual intercourse with a female person who was under the age of fourteen years. Ronald Makar was arrested without incident earlier today, April 15, 2014, at his workplace, the Wood Buffalo RCMP Detachment, in Fort McMurray, AB. Constance Haduik (DOB: 1957-11-14)has been charged with 1 count of indecent assault of a female person. Constance Haduik was arrested without incident on April 10, 2014 at her workplace in Kyle, SK. All of the charges are contrary to the 1982 Criminal Code. The equivalent in today's Criminal Code would be sexual assault, contrary to Section 271 Criminal Code. Both of the accused will make their first court appearances on June 4, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. in Carlyle, Saskatchewan. Ronald Makar is a serving member of the RCMP with 34 years of service. He is at the rank of Inspector and until today was the Operations Officer in Charge at Wood Buffalo Detachment in Fort McMurray, Alberta. As of today, he is suspended with pay pending further consideration. At the time of the alleged sexual assaults, Ronald Makar was a constable at the Carlyle RCMP Detachment. The majority of Ronald Makar's service was in Saskatchewan. He served in Carlyle, Kyle, Fond du Lac, Regina, Milestone, and "F" Division HQ in Regina. In 2012, Ronald Makar received his commission and was transferred to Alberta to his current position as the Operations Officer in Charge at Wood Buffalo Detachment in Fort McMurray, Alberta. "As soon as we became aware of the allegations we began a comprehensive criminal investigation which has resulted in charges against the two identified suspects," said Supt.
