Hit and run suspect caught

Yorkton City RCMP were requesting the public's assistance in solving a hit and run collision that has left two female youth from the Yorkton area, injured. On Monday the suspect, who's name was not released as of press time, was apprehended.

On October 29 at approximately 11:00 p.m., both police and EMS responded to a report of a hit and run involving a dark colored SUV traveling east down a major city street in the city of Yorkton. The vehicle collided with two pedestrians attempting to cross an intersection. After the fact the vehicle fled the scene. The youth currently remain in hospital and are being treated for their injuries.

Assistance is being received by the RCMP Yorkton Rural Detachment and the Yorkton Collision Analyst Reconstructionist.

The suspect will appear in Yorkton Provincial Court on December 20 at 9:30 a.m.
