Hospital back on track

Kamsack gets new docs

It's been a troubling issue for quite some time but residents in the area will be pleased to hear things are getting better.

The Sunrise Health Region and the Kamsack medical services committee has announced effective Monday, August 15, Dr. Jodi Bibby and Dr. Alistair Dudley have started medical practice in Kamsack after successfully completing the 18-week assessment training through the College of Physicians and Surgeons.

Drs. Bibby and Dudley will be working from the Kamsack Medical Clinic and providing services to the Kamsack Hospital and Emergency department.

As of August 15 the Kamsack Hospital Emergency department has returned to 24 hour a day, seven day a week coverage.

"We are excited that Dr. Bibby and Dr. Dudley have arrived in Kamsack to begin practice," says Suann Laurent, CEO for Sunrise Health Region. "Their medical expertise will bring great assistance to residents of Kamsack and surrounding communities and provides the opportunity to return Kamsack Hospital emergency services to full physician coverage."

Appointments can be made with Dr. Bibby and Dr. Dudley through the Kamsack Medical Clinic, (306) 542-2623.

Laurent says the Sunrise Health Region wishes to thank all physicians, staff members and Kamsack area residents and visitors for their cooperation during the Kamsack Hospital service interruption over the past few months.
