November 3-11 is Veteran's Week in the City of Yorkton. "It's an opportunity to give thanks to the many brave men and women who gave of their lives," said Peter Wyatt on behalf of the local branch of the Royal Canadian Legion to Yorkton City Council members recently.

Throughout the week numerous events have been planned. Wreath sales began on October 29 and as well, the annual poppy campaign kicked off.

On Sunday, November 7 beginning at 11 a.m., veterans will gather for a church parade at St. Gerard's Parish and on the 11th, the week will wrap up with an annual Remembrance Day Ceremony slated to take place at the Yorkton Gallagher Centre Flexihall. The service will get started at 10:30 a.m. It will be followed by fellowship and refreshments at the Legion lounge and the by a special banquet complete with entertainment.

A limited number of banquet tickets are available at a cost of $15 by calling the legion office at 783-9789.
