MUNICIPAL REVENUE SHARING has seen big leaps over the past several years. Yorkton's share is pictured above as Premier Brad Wall (centre) and Yorkton MLA Greg Ottenbreit (right) present Mayor James Wilson with a cheque at a recently held Yorkton Chamber of Commerce Premier's Dinner event.

Saskatchewan is seeing unprecedented growth and this fall residents will have a choice: one being to see continued progress and other to take a path of risk.

This was among the messages brought to Yorkton by Premier Brad Wall as he spoke at an annual Premiers Dinner event hosted by the Yorkton Chamber of Commerce last week.

Confident heading in to the upcoming election, Wall says he believes Saskatchewan residents will make the right choice when November 7 rolls around.

I believe you will choose confidence over doubt, growth instead of decline... I believe the people of this province will choose optimism over pessimism, they'll choose the future over the past... they'll choose hope..." by voting for the Saskatchewan Party he says.

"This is a choice between where we were yesterday, where we are today, and where we'd like to be tomorrow. There's going to be competing visions for that," he adds, "but we have a record that we're going to be happy to run on. The province is today economically better than it was four years ago. The government can't take credit for all of that but I think we definitely helped."

While there is work yet to be done acknowledges Wall, he says there has been improvements in all areas.

"Wait times for surgeries are coming down, we have more doctors practicing in the province, although we need more. We have more nurses working in the province by about 800. We've been investing into highways and we've been working hard to keep our promises."

This is a good indication he says, of what people can expect in the Saskatchewan Party platform.

"Not a lot of fancy things, not a lot of rich promises, but some ideas to build on the momentum that we have going."

What will be important come election day Wall adds, is that people get out to the polls and exercise their right to vote.

"We worry about complacency so we're going to work hard to earn this win. We'll run on our record but we'll also have a plan and a vision for this province... so we're going to work hard to earn and try to encourage people to make sure they get out to vote."

If the people of Saskatchewan want the momentum to continue moving forward and not risk a step backward, the choice is clear adds Wall.

When the election becomes a day of the past, the premier says there is much work to be done.

"We've done a lot of work but there's still much to be done on the highways front. I think we were catching up a little bit but the water and the flooding really beat up the highways... we've invested a bunch more over and above the budget, we just announced that but we need to do more work there."

Health care is another area that needs more work he says.

"We need to continue to reduce wait times, continue to deal with the doctor shortage that the whole country is facing... these are things that you will be hearing more about as the days unfold."
