To the Editor: Let the bells ring out and the banners fly. Join the bravado; the evil Osama bin Laden is dead. The "Decider" has prevailed. Ah yes, the Decider, it starts with D and that rhymes B and stands for Bush.
Now we can forget that it was the Decider who dragged women and children from their dwellings and shot them in the head. We can forget about the peasants he incinerated as they pilfered fuel from tankers trucks mired in the sand. We can forget about the tens of thousands of innocent civilians killed or wounded by the Decider in Afghanistan. We can forget it was the Decider who sanctioned torture in the hell-holes of Bagram and Guantanamo.
Now we can forget about Iraq too. Forget that Iraq had nothing to do with the 9/11 attack. Forget that the Iraqi lost everything from the Decider invasion. Forget they lost their mosques their museums and their libraries. Forget they lost their social welfare state and all their state enterprises. Forget the millions dead or wounded and forget as well the millions of refugees who have lost their county. Forget about the birth defects caused by American depleted uranium shells too.
All this doesn't matter any more, the wicked Osama is dead. The Decider has prevailed. Let the victor write the history. Let our children never learn the truth.
