The Sacred Heart High School (SHHS) Junior Lady Saints played in a 12 team tournament in Weyburn.
In the round robin portion, SHHS split games with Weyburn Junior High A, Naicam, and Wymark. Sacred Heart won both sets against Weyburn Junior High B and Humboldt to finish the round robin with a 7-3 record, good for second place in pool A.
The Junior Lady Saints advanced to the quarter final game against Carnduff. SHHS won the first set 25-23, but lost the next two 26-24 and 15-12 in a very close, back and forth match, played with high energy.
Throughout the tournament, the Lady Saints struggled with serving, which cost them a number of sets, and a chance at a higher placing in the tournament.
Some bright spots are starting to emerge for the team, including much improved passing/ setting, positional play and teamwork.
The junior girls have thanksgiving weekend off, and are looking forward to participating in a tournament at the Yorkton Regional High School October 14 and 15.
