The Sacred Heart High School Junior Saints hosted the Melville Junior Cobras recently. The Junior Cobras proved to be stronger than the Junior Saints, claiming a 32-6 win to hand the Saints their second loss of the season.
Head coach Darcy Todos says the Junior Saints had a good showing in the first half but needed to pay attention to the little things such as missed tackles and missed blocks that made a huge difference in the second half. Overall Todos was happy with his team's performance.
The Junior Saints bench was a little short with players but other players stepped up to play positions that were relatively new to them, Todos explains. "Hats off to them for doing that," he says.
The loss leaves the Junior Saints with a 2-2 record for the season.
The Junior Saints season wrapped up with the football jamboree Saturday.
