Consistency appears to be a little hard to come by for the Yorkton Terriers in the new year as they've watched their conference lead shrink to two points. Just after scoring a 9-1 win Sunday night, the Terriers were handed a 9-6 loss Tuesday at the hands of their closest Sherwood Conference rivals, the Kindersley Klippers, at the West Central Events Centre.

Kindersley opened with a six-goal first period, following up with three second period goals while holding Yorkton off the scoreboard for the first 20 minutes.

Kindersley first period marksmen included Ryan Elliot and Wheaton King with a pair of goals apiece. Andrew Dommet and Jordan Hoffman each added a single to give the Klippers a 6-0 lead after 20 minutes.

Dommet scored his second of the game while Braeden Adamyk notched a pair of markers to round out Klipper's scoring at nine goals.

The Terriers came to life in the second period with four goals of their own.

Blaine Tendler opened the scoring for Yorkton with a powerplay goal assisted by Justin Buzzeo and Jeremy Boyer.

Riley Paterson added Yorkton's second assisted by Nathan Murray.

Robbie Ciolfi scored the third goal for the Terriers assisted by Kurtis Decker.

Boyer slipped the puck past Kindersley goalie Sean Cahill assisted by Decker and Clarke Breitkreuz to round out second period scoring for the Terriers.

Tendler opened third period scoring with his second of the game assisted by Brent Struble and Buzzeo.

Buzzeo capped the game scoring late in the third period- assisted by Struble and Justin Lamontagne.
