SHHS LADY SAINTS VOLLEYBALL took silver in a seven team home tournament this weekend, losing to the YRHS in the final.

The Sacred Heart Sr. Girls volleyball team hosted a seven team tournament this weekend. Friday SHHS faced the Yorkton Regional in the first match. YRHS took a very close first set 23 - 25. The second set was another see saw battle with YRHS taking the win with a 30 - 32 win. SHHS then faced Estevan winning the first set 25 - 18, but losing the second 17 - 25. The Lady Saints then went on a roll for the remainder of the round robin defeating Melville, Canora, Esterhazy and Wadena to finish second overall and claim a bye into the semifinal. In the semi's SHHS faced Esterhazy winning the first set 25 - 14, but lost a close second set 24 - 25. In the third set SHHS seized control early and never looked back winning 15 - 4 to advance to the Championship match. In the final the Saints would clash with their Gladstone rivals in the YRHS Lady Raiders for home tournament gold. Unfortunately the Lady Saints did not have a full squad for the final, missing two starters, which came at the worst possible time going up against their rivals. Despite playing very well according to their head coach Perry Enns the Lady Saints were no match for the Raiders missing two players losing 19 - 25 and 11 - 25 to claim the second place plaque.

The Raiders only lost one set all tournament.

Next up for the Raiders are two more tournaments before Regional play downs in Swift Current and then hosting Provincials on Nov. 15th and 16th.
