He plays regularly but the result isn't always quite like this one was.
Yorkton resident Ken Goltz is a regular player of the Saskatchewan Lotteries Sports Select game POOLS and on the weekend of December 12 his love of the game paid off. Goltz picked his favorite teams, took his chances and he's now $159,156 richer as a result.
The local resident purchased an $80 POOLS ticket at the Super C Gas Bar in Yorkton. After watching most of the favorites win, he checked the Sport Select website to see how many POOLS winners had shared the prize pool.
"I thought there would be 10 or so," he says. "I was pleasantly surprised that I was the only winner!"
Goltz boxed four games - meaning he chose both teams as winners - and was the only player to correctly pick all 15 games on his POOLS ticket. But that doesn't mean it was an easy road to riches. The last game played on the Sunday night was a close one. With less than five minutes left in the game, Dallas scored a touchdown making the lead for Philadelphia tight. Fortunately for Goltz, his team came through in the end.
Now over $150,000 richer, Goltz says he plans to do some home renovating, pay off his mortgage and invest the rest of his windfall.
"It's always been my dream to be debt free!" he closes.
