It's the second armed robbery in the city in the span of a week and RCMP are on the look out for the suspect(s).
Members from the Yorkton City RCMP Detachment along with Yorkton District GIS are investigating another armed robbery in Yorkton that took place Friday morning at approximately 11:15 a.m.
A female adult victim was robbed at a local business in the 100 block of Gladstone Avenue North. The victim is an employee of the business involved in the armed robbery.
The male suspect had what is believed to be a hunting knife on him however RCMP report the victim was uninjured as a result. The suspect made off with cigarettes and an unknown amount of cash. He fled the scene in a purple coloured, older model four door sedan which had damage to the rear.
The suspect is described as being an Aboriginal male in his early 20's. He is approximately 5'5" to 5'7" tall with shorter dark hair. He has a slender to average build and a medium-toned complexion. The suspect was wearing a grey and black jacket; black pants, a white neck bandana, a dark coloured toque and round sunglasses.
Once inside the business he covered his face with the neck bandana.
It is believed that a second male suspect was involved as the driver of the vehicle.
On Wednesday afternoon two females working at the 7-11 Store in Yorkton were also robbed at knife point. The suspect also made off on foot with cigarettes and an undisclosed amount of cash. Neither employee was injured.
