A member of the Melville Millionaires is joining an NCAA team, but it isn't happening until next season.
Ian McNulty, the high scoring forward who finished second in the SJHL in scoring last season, has made a verbal agreement with the University of Connecticut Huskies to join the school for the 2013 - 2014 school year.
"There's lots that has to happen but I'm still pretty excited," McNulty says.
"It's nice to know after my SJHL career is over, I'll have somewhere to play."
As far as the upcoming season is concerned, McNulty is ready to join the Millionaires and make a run at a league championship.
"All I've been thinking about all summer is getting back on the ice," admits the high-flying scorer and playmaker. "I definitely think we could win the league. We have a lot of firepower up front and a great goaltender (Alex Wakaluk). We just need to work on our defensive-zone coverage and we should be good."
