The Melville Millionaires let a good opportunity slip through their fingers. The SJHL club was at home to the Humboldt Broncos and took a 2-1 lead into the final frame, only to give up three straight goals in five minutes and 15 seconds.

The Mils would get one more tally but it was too little, too late for Melville and they ended up on the wrong end of a 4-3 final score.

Rookies accounted for all the Millionaires scoring with Godric Tham scoring a pair of markers and Chris Gartner scoring the third goal. Tham's linemate Brayden Metz kept his hot offensive streak rolling along with a pair of assists while Mark Owen and Connor Lowe-Wylde each notched a single helper.

Teams were tied 1-1 after the opening stanza and Melville led 2-1 after 40 minutes. Kyle Jahraus was between the pipes for the Millionaires and he stopped 27 of 31 shots while the Millionaires fired 37 shots on the Broncos cage.
