New bike path laws are in effect in Yorkton and the city is reminding residents to take note and be cautious.
Motorists and cyclists using Gladstone Avenue and Darlington Street will now notice newly marked lines where bike paths have been integrated.
Regular rules of the road apply when using the bikeways says Darcy McLeod, Director of Community Development, Parks and Recreation
"Motorists can cross over designated bike lanes to access parking, driveways and alleys but designated bike lanes are for bikes only. Both motorists and cyclists can drive in 'shared use' lanes."
McLeod also reminds "helmets save lives and are required for safe cycling."
