He was a known and dedicated member of the community and now a green space off of Catherine Street and Gladstone Avenue in Yorkton will be named after him. During a presentation to city council Monday Ed Lishynsky, Chairperson of the St. Joseph's College Alumni Association talked about Brother Stanislaus, a former, long time director of the Ukrainian Catholic College.

"Over the course of time the landscape has changed and the history almost forgotten," says Lishynsky adding the alumni would like to install a small memorial and signage commemorating the positive impact Brother Stanislaus had on so many young men and the greater community. We appreciate the grounds of St. Joseph's College will be used for housing once again, however St. Joseph's College Alumni Association think that the historical significance of these grounds, and the man that had such a profound impact on our community, should be formally recognized."

Council decided to name the buffer between the new subdivision and the school formerly known as CJ Houston, be named Brother Stanislaus Greenway.
