YRHS Raider Gridder head coach Roby Sharpe announces that YRHS defensive back Paul Toth was voted all star middle linebacker in the Regina Inter-collegiate Football League (RIFL) this year. Toth, who played both sides of the back for the Gridders this season, was originally nominated in two categories, both as running back and fullback.

Toth admits he's proud of the title, but credits his teammates for helping him win the award. "They were right there doing their job so I lokked good, so I have to give credit to them," he suggests.

A Grade 12 senior from Saltcoats, Toth says he wants to play football somewhere. Regina Thunder coach Erwin Klempner has expressed an interest in recruiting Toth.

Toth who started to play tackle football at YRHS in Grade 10 says, he'd like to play safety or half back on defense.

In addition to football, Toth is a curler of note, skipping a high school team to provincial regional competition.

"I'd like to thank my coaches for bringing me along," he closes.

Micheal (Moose) Nagy and Lane Hull were also nominated for RIFL all star awards.
