THE YORKTON PEEWEE GRIDDERS played their last home game of the season against the visiting Lumsden Devils at Kinsmen Century Field. They will travel to Leibel Field in Regina to take on the Regina Thunder for the last game of the regular season Saturday, October 8.

The Yorkton Peewee Gridders hosted the Lumsden Devils Sunday afternoon at Kinsmen Century Field.

Following a touchdown early in the second quarter and a 30 yard romp by Hunter Arnold to add six more points, The Peewee Gridders led 12-0 at half time.

The Yorkton Peewee Gridders shutout the Lumsden Devils 29-0 at the final whistle.

Gridders head coach Jason Farrell says the kids played a great game. "You could kind of feel it coming during the practise week. The kids are finally starting to understand the game," he adds.

Farrell points out 25 of his players only started to play 12 man tackle football a mere five weeks ago. He suggests he could feel things coming together which became apparent on the football field as well.

Outstanding offensive players included Nick Payne and Hunter Arnold. On defense Evan Gleason and Joe Falowka made some critical tackles.

Jake Kustra had an injured finger but he played through it well. "That's what real football players do, play through the pain," Farrell asserts.

Farrell estimates the Gridders needed to win four games to make the playoffs. Following their last two wins, they must win two more games. "It's easier to win sooner than later," he suggests.

He says the Yorkton Peewee Gridders were well prepared for the game against Lumsden. The Devils are better than the team Yorkton beat last week, he claims. "We were just ready. They didn't get any place to the outside. We shut down both sidelines. If you do that there's not much room up the middle," Farrell closes.
