The 2011 high school boys 5A provincial championships, hosted by P.A. Carleton, wrapped up over the weekend with the provincial gold medal going to P.A. St. Mary. North Battleford claimed the silver medal while Regina Campbell Collegiate won the bronze medal.
The Yorkton Regional High School (YRHS) boys finished fourth in their pool in the round robim with one win and three losses, reports coach Dion Pfeifer. The Senior Raiders were eliminated after losing the quarter final to P.A. St. Mary.
Pfeifer says the boys played well at times but simply were not consistent enough against the top teams.
All in all Pfeifer claims it was a successful season.
The Raiders will miss the graduating Grade 12 players, including Jason Blommaert, Tyler Boy-chuk Kaostas Karacha-lios, Stephen Hutton and Daniel Brown, Pfeifer closes.
