Our female athlete of the month for September is a Grade 10 girl at Sacred Heart. She is currently on the soccer team and just finished a fantastic season of cross country. She ran hard at all of her practices and didn't complain about our tough workouts. She won two gold medals in midget girls cross country races at Madge Lake and Cherrydale. She was the Midget Girls District Champion in Melville both this year and last. At provincials in Medstead she ran against extremely tough competition from across the province with over 100 racers in her age class and won a bronze medal, our first individual cross country medal in 12 years. September's cab athlete of the month is Justine Zarowny.
Our male athlete of the month for September is a multisport athlete at Sacred Heart. He ran hard at every cross country practice and had tough competition in all of his races. He won a bronze medal at Madge Lake and came in 5th in Cherrydale. He was also 5th at districts in Melville. Against an extremely competitive field of 99 runners at provincials he came in a very respectable 22nd. He is the leading scorer on the boys soccer team and plays an excellent midfield. He is at every practice and constantly working to be a better player. The cab clothing September male athlete of the month is Ben Fetsch.
