Saskatchewan takes synchronized swimming gold

Regina Synchro and Synchro Saskatchewan hosted the Canadian Prairie Invitational Synchronized Swimming Championships May 10-12 at the Lawson Aquatic Center.

SASKATCHEWAN'S SYNCHRONIZED swimming clubs, including the Yorkton Aquabatix, recently won gold in the Canadian Prairie Invitational Synchronized Swimming Championships.

Regina Synchro and Synchro Saskatchewan hosted the Canadian Prairie Invitational Synchronized Swimming Championships May 10-12 at the Lawson Aquatic Center. Over 250 athletes, coaches, judges, volunteers and spectators attended or competed in this national event. Saskatchewan was represented by the Estevan Mermaids, North Battleford Water Doves, Orca Synchro, Saskatoon Aqualenes, Weyburn Synchro Stars, Yorkton Aquabatix and Regina Synchro. This competition was a huge success for the province's athletes. Top Awards for Saskatchewan athletes are as follows:

GOLD: Special Olympics Solo Victoria Machniak NBWD; Novice Solo Hannah Mantei, EM; Junior Solo Eliza Rayner RS; Masters Solo Shannon Wanner EM; 11-12 Duet Brooke Kowbel, Jenna Willie; Novice Duet Jenna Holtby, Danielle Lee-Brown RS; Senior Duet Andrea Bellerive, Erin Tonita RS; 8UTrio Bronte Cawkwell, Teagan Ignatiuk, Alex MacKenzie RS; 9-10 Trio Keauna Heimbecker, Zoe Pfeifer, Chloe Popoff YAX; 10U Team Saskatoon Aqualenes;
