The Sherring Gold Peewee AA Terriers hosted a five team pre-season tournament at the Kinsmen Arena over the weekend. The Pee-wee Terriers swept to the tournament title undefeated.
Head coach Ed Zawatsky says the coaches used the tournament as an evaluation for selecting the team for the current season. "It was a surprise that we ended up winning the tournament," Zawatsky says. He credits the youngsters who played very well with the win. Their strong performances will make selecting the team will be a difficult choice, he suggests. "We brought five players into this tournament so we have to cut five kids which is not easy to do," Zawatsky says.
The team's season starts October 2 against Melville, opening the league schedule against the defending champs, Zawatsky reports.
