The Sacred Heart High School (SHHS) Senior Saints boys' basketball team captured the A-side championship at the recent Melville Cobras tournament.
In their opening game the Senior Saints downed Esterhazy 93-31. Mark Kuemper scored 14 points and grabbed 12 rebounds on the way to the win while Dalen Brueckner sank 15 points and picked off 10 rebounds, reports saints coach Garrett Karcha.
Sacred Heart romped to a 77-35 win over Balcarres in their second game of the tournament. Preston Liebrecht led the way with 15 points and four assists in the game.
SHHS faced their hometown rivals, the Yorkton Regional High School (YRHS) in game three, claiming a 65-45 victory. Kuemper again led the way with 16 points and 12 rebounds.
