Community coach Alfredo Bermudez says he has a great bunch of players who really want to play soccer. Their technique is good. They get along very well and they're very well organized with his assistance.

Bermudez, a community coach who's had a very successful career coaching soccer in the province, has coached many of the Sacred Heart boys in club soccer since they were quite young.

Bermudez recognizes the tournament performances of some of his top players. Preston Liebrecht keeps the team in the game with his ability to score anytime. Robert Okeny dominated midfield. Nathan Ruff also had a great game. These players all give 110 per cent on the field all the time, Bermudez asserts.

The Saints regular keeper Brock Liebrecht couldn't play in the net because of an injured finger. He played well outside as a defender, however, Bermudez notes. Replacement keeper Jacob Okeny did an excellent job in goal.

The Saints swept the tournament handily winning all three matches. "We didn't have any close games. I wish we did, but we didn't," Bermudez states. The boys beat Weyburn 7-0 in the first game, downed Luther 6-0 and downed Swift Current 6-2 in the final match.

Swift Current managed to push the Saints by scoring two goal against them in the tournament final. "That was a little bit of a wake up call for our boys," Bermudez says.

Bermudez announces two recent sponsors, Countrywide Furniture and Sundown Eaves-troughing and Exteriors, who provided brand new white uniforms for the SHHS boys' team. "As a coach I would like to say thank you very much on behalf of the kids," Bermudez closes.
