The annual snowmobile dealers' tour which typically accompanies the season opener of the Yorkton SnoRiders Snowmobile Club went ahead last weekend, albeit in a slightly reduced format with only two local dealers participating in the event.
Yorkton Yamaha snowmobile dealership, Schrader's Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki hosted the breakfast for the annual event. Owner of Scharder Motors, Rick Bradshaw says the event has been excellent for the dealership. He says he always enjoys working with the local snowmobile club, the Yorkton SnoRiders, to host the annual dealers' tour. "We've had a very busy day. The crowd turnout has been great," Bradshaw states.
There are no major changes to the Yamaha line of sleds this year, Bradshaw says. Yamaha made a new machine last year, the first one to introduce power steering. That change to the power steering resulted in a very good swing in sales, he claims. Yamaha expanded the power steering idea to another line of trail sleds and also the two-up family touring sleds, the Ventures.
The Nitro sleds have been around for four years in a couple of variations. "The Nitros have still been one of our top sellers. They're very popular," Bradshaw suggests.
The dealership offers a full line of Yamaha sleds, ATVs, clothing and accessories. "We are the biggest Fox Racing clothing dealers in Saskatchewan," Bradshaw points out.
Shoppers thinking about Christmas can pick up deals on shirts, winter clothing, helmets, and a large selection of gift ideas.
The recent cold snap and abundance of snow promises a great year for snowmobiling. "It's going to be a great winter," Bradshaw closes.
Local Ski-Doo/Bombar-dier dealership King's Sport and Leisure hosted lunch at the dealership at noon Saturday. Paul Smolinski, King's Sport and Leisure owner says he's thrilled to participate in the annual SnoRiders season kickoff as a dealer. The turnout was tremendous as people really look forward to the one day event which wraps up with the steak supper, social and silent auction featuring a brand new Ski-Doo 600 TNT donated to the club by Bombardier.
Smolinski says he merely provided the facility while the SnoRiders did all the work with the lunch. "They did an absolutely over the top job," he declares.
Last year Ski-Doo introduced the new Etech technology on to the 800 series engine. "That's been just an absolute homerun hit and they're continuing in that vein," Smolinski points out.
This year Ski-Doo has introduced the new R-motion suspension. "The ride on it is simply as good as it gets," he declares.
With Christmas just around the corner, Smolinski points out that King's Sport and Leisure carries a full line of equipment, clothing, accessories and gift ideas including everything from socks all the way to a brand new sled or ATV. "We have something for absolutely every budget," he closes.
