Yorkton 'KidSport' would like to announce that the upcoming Street Hockey Tournament that was scheduled for December 10, 2011 has been moved to March 2012. The change will allow more time to recruit additional teams and make the event bigger and better 'So ALL Kids Can Play' in Yorkton!'

Winter Welcome

Yorkton Leisure Services offers a Winter Welcome Activity Program free of charges for new and not so new Canadians to experience the active side of winter. Activities include: Friday, December 30 - 6:30-8 p.m., skating at the Farrell Agencies Arena, Gallagher Centre, 455 Broadway St. W. Skates will be provided in limited sizes.

Monday, November 28 - 6:15-7:30 p.m. bowling at the Yorkton Bowl Arena, 49 Broadway St. E. No equipment is necessary.

Sunday, February 5 - 1 - 2:30 p.m., curling at the Yorkton Curling Club, Gallagher Centre, 455 Broadway St. W. Bring clean indoor shoes. Curling equipment will be provided.

Sunday, January 15 - 1 p.m., tobogganing at the Knights of Columbus Park, Circlebrooke Drive. Sleds will be provided to share.

The program is open to families of all ages.

Sport & Swim Night

The next Youth Sport and Swim Night, Friday, November 25 offers Learn to Box from eight to 9:30 p.m. at the Gallagher Centre Flexi-hall for youth ages eight to 18 years.

The boxing program will be followed by a teen swim

at the Gallagher Centre Water Park from 10 p.m. to 12 a.m. for youth ages 12-18 years.

Everything, including snacks and door prizes, is free.

Kids Convention

The Christmas break kids' convention, an opportunity for children to participate in recreational activities over the Christmas break, will take place at the Gloria Hayden Com-munity Centre December 27-30.

The program which offers a variety of sports, games and crafts with a seasonal theme runs from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. (lunch hour will be supervised if required)

The cost is $50 per participant.

Register early as only 25 registrations will be taken.
