The Yorkton UCT Bantam AA Terriers will be playing game 2 of a 3-game series against the Regina AA Canucks at the Farrell Agencies arena on Sunday, March 5 at 5:00 p.m.

YWF awards banquet

The annual Yorkton Wildlife Federation Awards Banquet and Dance will take place Saturday, March 5 at St. Mary's Cultural Centre.

The evening will feature trophy awards for fish and big game as well as fundraisers including raffles, silent auctions, and special draws.

All proceeds from the evening will go to support ongoing Yorkton and Sask. Wildlife Federation wildlife projects, the Habitat Trust and school archery program.

Tickets for the event are $25 for adults, $12 for kids 12 years and under with youngsters five years admitted free.

Corporate tables of eight are available for $225 per table.

Tickets may be purchased at Bird Dog Archery, and the Home Hardware sports department.

Snow Slam 7

The YETI Taekwondo Abominable Snow Slam 7 is coming to Dr. Brass School, Saturday, March 5.

The Saskatchewan Martial Arts Association sanctioned open tournament and PanAm Games qualifier will feature eight events, including point sparring, weapon sparring, team sparring, light kickboxing, empty hand forms, weapon forms, women's power board breaking and men's power brick breaking.

A canteen is available for lunch.

Advance tickets can be purchased from any YETI Taekwondo member for half price.

Snowmobile race

The 11th annual vintage snowmobile race hosted by the Saltcoats volunteer fire department will be held at Saltcoats Regional Park Saturday, March 5.

The event offers a kids Kitty Cat race to begin at 11 a.m. followed by the feature 100 mile vintage sled race which begins at 11:30 a.m.

The feature race will have vintage, pre-1974 single cylinder snowmobiles racing 100 miles around a groomed track.

Cash and product prizes are offered for first, second and third places.

The day will begin with a pancake breakfast from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. in the town hall basement at a cost of $5 for adults and $3 for youngsters aged 12 years and under.

Following the feature race snowmobile drag races will be held for single cylinder sleds still running after the feature race. Prize money will depend on the number of entries.

A concessions and heated refreshment gardens will be open to the public.
