The Sacred Heart High School (SHHS) Senior Lady Saints hosted the 4A Conference playoffs at the Halo Dome Saturday. Head coach and tournament organizer Perry Enns reports the round robin tournament featured four East Central District senior girls' volleyball teams including Kamsack, Esterhazy, Melville and SHHS. The top two teams advanced to regional competition in Oxbow this weekend.

Melville finished first while the Lady Saints finished with a 4-2 record to claim second place and lock up a berth at regionals, Enns reports.

Enns says the SHHS girls played an all round balanced game. He admits the team can play better than they played Saturday. He looks forward to a better performance at Oxbow. "We need to have some life and enthusiasm on the court. We need to pass well and attack a little more than we did this weekend," Enns suggests.

The team leaders were Mariel Kotyk, Katie Coleridge and Breanna Ostafie. "Those three Grade 12 players were leaders on the court and played very well," he contends.

The regional tournament will feature six teams with the top two advancing to provincial competition. "Competi-tion will be tough," Enns admits. "Melville will be there and Oxbow's very good, so it will be a tough tournament," he says. He believes the Lady Saints have a chance to move on to provincials if they play well.
