Terriers lose two road games

The Kindersley Klippers edged closer to the Sherwood Conference leaders, the Yorkton Terriers, with a 4-3 overtime win at the West Central Events Centre Saturday night.

Following a scoreless opening frame, Andrew Dommet opened the scoring for the Klippers just under two minutes into the second period.

Clarke Breitkreuz evened things up with a solo marker nearing the midpoint of the period.

Devon McMullen gave the Terriers a brief one goal lead assisted by Justin Buzzeo and Jeremy Boyer before Jordon Hoffman tied the game at two.

Robbie Ciolfi, recently returned from an injury which had sidelined him for awhile, scored 46 seconds into the final frame to give Yorkton a 3-2 lead, assisted by Breitkreuz.

Johnny Calkins tied the game for Kindersley late in the third period with a power play goal.

Hoffman launched his second of the game just 46 seconds into the overtime period to hand the 4-3 win to Kindersley.

The Humboldt Broncos handed the Terriers their second road loss of the week ads they downed the visitors 5-2 at the Elgar Petersen Arena Sunday.

Taylor Johnson and Gabe Minville each scored once early in the opening period to give the Broncos a 2-0 lead.

Boyer pulled the Terriers within one goal midway through the period assisted by Buzzeo and McMullen.

The Broncos added three more goals in the second period. Dayton Shaw scored the first of three just 37 seconds into the period. Neil Landry added a second midway through the period and Johnson notched his second of the game, a powerplay marker to give the Broncos the 5-2 win.

Justin Lamontagne scored Yorkton's second goal of the game in the second period assisted by Kyle McLeod to cap Terrier scoring.
