The Yorkton Terriers Hockey Club presented the Terrier Scramble hole-in-one winner, Rod Merritt with his winnings of $2,500 at a recent press conference.
Terriers vice-president Larry Wells reports the par three holes were hole-in-one prize holes worth $10,000, $5,000 and $2,500. "Rod aced hole number three, a $2,500 pin," says Wells. K.W. Men's Wear was the sponsor for the $2,500 pin on that hole, Wells adds.
Darrell Spelay of K.W. Men's Wear, holder of the most points, all time record and most goals, all time record while wearing a Terrier uniform, is an avid long-time sponsor of the Terriers. "We'd certainly like to continue that tradition," Spelay declares.
Merritt admits it was nice to win both the hole-in-one and the associated prize money. He thanks the Terriers for hosting the annual golf tournament. He also thanks the tournament sponsors. "Without sponsors we don't have anything in our communities and it was very good of K.W. (Men's Wear) to help out," Merritt closes.
