Third NASP provincial archery tournament results

The recent NASP provincials hosted by the Yorkton Regional High School (YRHS) saw some 400 young archers from around the province competing for provincial honors. Young archers competed in three divisions.

The recent NASP provincials hosted by the Yorkton Regional High School (YRHS) saw some 400 young archers from around the province competing for provincial honors.

Young archers competed in three divisions. The Elementary Division included youngsters in Grade 6. Each team could have 12 to 24 archers shooting. Four team members were to be female and at least four were to be male.

The Middle Division could have archers in Grades 7 and 8. As in the Elementary Division, 12 to 24 shooters made up a team. Four shooters were to be female and at least four were to be male.

In the High School Division, shooters could be from Grades 9 to 12. As per the other two divisions, 12 to 24 archers made up a team with a minimum requirement of four females and four males included on the team.

Archers could also compete as individual competitors with a maximum school enrollment of Grade 12.

The top teams at the NASP provincial this year were: High School Division - 1) YRHS, Divi-sion 1, with a score of 2953; 2) L.P. Miller Comprehensive School, Division 2, score of 2551. Middle Division - 1) Melfort Compre-hensive School, score of 2930; 2) McLurg School, score of 2309. 3) Columbia School, score of 2100; Elementary Division - 1) Maude Burke School, score of 2716; 2) M.C. Knoll Elementary School, score of 2469; 3) Canora Junior Elemen-tary School, score of 2352.

Top individual archers were: High School Division - 1) Megan Homenuik (281); 2) Brody Steciuk (280); 3) Eric Pedwell (276); 4) Lea Burnard (272); 5) Tara Lazurko (265); 6) Andrea Landstad (260). Middle Division - Ethan Kish (267). Elementary Division - 1) Amy Constant (266); 2) Brayden Jarvis (264); 3) Derek Campbell (262).
