This is your invite to jam

Whether you love to play or just love to listen, the Community Jam is an event for anyone with a love of music.

Whether you love to play or just love to listen, the Community Jam is an event for anyone with a love of music. This Friday, December 2, the Saskatchewan Abilities Council is hosting a Community Jam in honor of International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

Joanne McCready with the Abilities Council says that anyone with musical ability is invited to take the stage, and some instruments will be provided. They also welcome those who want to bring their own instruments on stage.

"Anybody who has any musical talent, singing or musical instruments, come out and join us," McCready says.

One musical talent who will make a guest appearance is Rayanne Ottenbreit, and McCready says that there could be some surprise guests appearing during the day.

She also says that the event is not just for people who want to play, but for anyone who enjoys music in any capacity.

The inspiration for the Community Jam is to get people enjoying something universal. Since many of the clients at the day program enjoy music, they were inspired to take a musical event to bring everyone together. This is the third such Community Jam the Abilities Council has organized.

The event will take place from 1:00 to 3:30 at the Tillman Quality of Life Centre on Ball Road. All registered Access Transit users will enjoy free transportation to the event.
