The World Taekwondo Federation held its 89th International Referee Refresher course in Innsbruck, Austria recently. Susanne Mitchell of Kees Yorkton attended to be apprised of some rule changes that will be implemented. The seminar was attended by around 160 of the worlds top international referees including many past Olympic officials.
Only two referees scored 100 per cent on their exam. Mitchell was one of those two referees. This will be a boost for her as she works towards her goal of being selected for the 2016 Olympic games.
Mitchell finished up the week officiating at the Austrian Open. Her next important event is the French World Championships in Vietnam held this June in Ho Chi Mihn City.
Mitchell is the provincial referee chair. Her experience and results are a testament to the high quality referees within our provincial program and the level of expertise she gives back to Saskatchewan.
