To the Editor:
Ralph Goodale does his best to make Stephen Harper look like some sort of political maniac hell bent to eliminate every and any social program as though the Prime Minister was obsessed with a bizarre personal agenda to destroy the government.
The fact is Harper and the Conservatives are the only federal party that seems to really take serious the obvious fact that the global economy is still very fragile and we are part of that fragility. The Conservatives are serious about balancing the budget and will do so before the next election. For this they should be applauded, not ridiculed. Money does not grow on trees as much as the Liberals or NDP might wish it were so.
If ever there was a time for responsible government and prudent managing of the economy it is now. I do not believe Canadians are ready to turn the reins of government over to an unproven "Canadian Idol celebrity status only" Justin Trudeau who lacks both substance and serious qualifications to lead this country.
