They may be armed and both are considered to be extremely dangerous so RCMP are continuing to remind the public - including those in the Yorkton area - to be on the lookout for two US fugitives, John McCluskey and Casslyn Welch. Law enforcement on both sides of the border are on high alert.
Events all started with a prison break on July 30. Three inmates, including John McCluskey, escaped from an Arizona jail. Police believe they were aided by Welch. While two of the escapees have since been apprehended, McCluskey, accompanied by Welch, remains at large and police believe they were headed to Canada.
Last week it was reported the pair may have killed while on the run. The charred remains of retirees Linda and Gary Hass were found at a campground in New Mexico and forensic evidence that ties the pair to the double homicide.
To date there is no concrete information confirming the fugitives have entered Canada, their current whereabouts is unknown but RCMP say it is possible that they may have crossed the border undetected.
They are reminding the public to be vigilant and call police immediately if they see either of the individuals. Armed and dangerous, they should not be approached.
