There's a new business in town, and it's grand opening attracted big crowds. After months of hard work, Value Village opened its doors at the Parkland Mall.
The store offers lightly used merchandise, ranging from clothes to housewares, to toys and many other things in between. Manager Kerri Hudgins says that it's great to finally open.
"We've had really big interest in the community, lots of people stopping by to see the store before it opened," she notes.
At the official ribbon cutting ceremony, approximately 100 people arrived, Hudgins estimates, and the store was busy throughout the day and the following weekend.
The store is connected to the Canadian Diabetes Association, and all merchandise is purchased from them. All product donated at the Community Donation Centre is donated to the association.
"They get the money for their research projects, which is a good thing, and we get product from our store."
The grand opening saw a full store, and Hudgins says it was great to see people getting to see what they have to offer.
"We're giving everyone a look around, and letting them shop to their heart's content," she notes.
With the grand opening, Hudgins says it's good to see the hard work preparing for the day paying off.
"We're happy to finally be in Yorkton, it's been a long time coming," she concludes.
