The Health Foundation recently wrapped up its Walk to Run clinic. The clinic held two weekly sessions for anyone who was interested in improving their running/walking abilities in preparation for The Health Foundation Charity Road Race.
The clinic held two sessions a week on Tuesday and Thursday and allowed participants of all ages to improve their fitness at their own pace and choose whether to walk or run.
Bernie Wlock, clinic's instructor mentioned that the progress of the clinic's participants was very visible citing, "We had a lot of people who have never ran before, and now they can run five kilometers."
The clinic which ended this week generally has a solid turnout even when the weather is not cooperating and that the morale of the participants is high as many of the runners mentioned how fun and enjoyable the program was and that the opportunity to get fitness and activity was not taken for granted.
The Charity Road Race is August 19 and offers five km, ten km, and half marathon events for all levels of runners.
