To the Editor:
(Editor's Note, the following is and Open Letter to Minister Gerry Ritz.)
Which part of equality do you not understand? Is it age, size, or the meaning of fair?
Could we try this scenario? You go to Ottawa and there is only one car dealer. Montreal has seven or eight (similar to competing grain companies.) Where would you expect to get the best deal?
Countries that need to purchase grain have the same problem - Wheat Board or seven or eight agencies to deal with. The farmer and/or the worker in the car plants don't enter the equation hardly.
The Wheat Board doesn't need to worry about profit being controlled by government. We know this by the national debt. Whereas the private companies must keep their shareholders happy.
By the way I must (am forced) to pay the national debt by law so its a meager worry about paying the board members for testing the integrity of the federal government.
