The Sunrise Health Region is anticipating the receipt of reports on the structural damage repairs required and air quality concerns at the Invermay Health Centre.
Following the discovery of some structural damage and air quality concerns, repairs required necessitated temporary suspension of visiting health services and temporary relocation of the long-term care residents to health facilities in neighbouring communities.
"Once our residents and staff were safely re-located, structural engineers and representatives from restoration and air quality companies were immediately in the building assessing the situation," says Suann Laurent, President and CEO. "We will receive the reports in the very near future to help understand the current situation in the building."
Once the reports are received the region will consult with the Ministry of Health to further assess the situation and determine next steps in the remediation process. Additional information about the situation at the Invermay Health Centre is posted on the Sunrise Health Region website at www.sunrisehealthregion.sk.ca.
