It's all about a celebration of culture.
The Yorkton Film Festival (YFF) has announced it will be presenting the event, "A Gift To Culture Days" on Saturday, October 1 at the Godfrey Dean Cultural Centre from 1-4 p.m. The afternoon will feature cultural groups from the Yorkton area performing dance, song, theatre, and martial arts.
There will also be, screenings from previous YFF Golden Sheaf Award winners, cultural board games, face painting, and clown-based entertainment, along with other interactive displays will be featured, rain or shine. Admission is free for all attendees.
To highlight the afternoon, the Yorkton Film Festival will be officially launching its 65th year of operation with a media conference at 1 p.m. at the Godfrey Dean.
The day will mark the second annual provincial Culture Days, and the Yorkton Film Festival's second year as a participant. Culture Days is a nation-wide event, taking place from September 30 to October 2. Culture Days is designed to raise the awareness, accessibility, participation and engagement of all Canadians in the arts and cultural life of their communities. The festival invites individuals to stop into the Godfrey Dean to view any number of activities during the day, as it is not mandatory to attend the full day's events.
